Our Director of Restaurants Dan Ivarie is a career chef that brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to HMD. He has a diverse background composed of practicing the cuisines of Southeast Asia, Europe and the USA. Asa Summa Cum Laude graduate of Johnson & Wales University Providence Rhode Island, he went on to work in senior management positions withinluxury hotel groups such as Hyatt, Mandarin Oriental, Ritz Carlton and Peninsula. Besides being a hotel veteran, Dan has created and operated landmark restaurant concepts throughout the USA, Hawaii, Singapore, Bangkok and Jakarta.
A native New Yorker, Jason has spent the past 2 decades in the hospitality industry working across Asia with brands such as Four Seasons, Raffles and Amanresorts as well as independent properties such as The Siam and qualia.
A graduate of Cornell University with a Masters of Management in Hospitality and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Lewis and Clark College, Jason is uniquely qualified to develop and manage luxury properties.
Jason has an established track record of success in leading the development, opening and operating of some of the worlds finest hotels and resorts.
His extensive network of travel industry professionals from press to trade has given him one of his greatest strengths which is to successfully position, promote and market his hotels quickly and effectively.
His diverse background and many interests allows him to successfully develop all aspects of a hotel operation with major strengths in Spas, Wellness, F&B and Guest Experience.
A luxury traveler since childhood, Jason understands the luxury guest experience from the standpoint of a guest giving him a unique insight into guest needs which allows him to better develop experiences for those guests.
He and his hotels have received many accolades including Best General Manager Worldwide 2015 by Gallivanter’s Guide and Best Hotel Manager Worldwide 2013 by Andrew Harper – The Hideaway Report.
Jason is a certified PADI SCUBA instructor with 27 years diving experience and over 3,000 logged dives. He enjoys outdoor sports, sailing, boating, hiking, fitness, travel, restaurants and cooking.
Brad has been involved in the restaurant business most of his adult life, but has also worked on projects for hotels, cafes, and even hospitals. He has worked on projects in some of the toughest areas of the world, bringing first world experience and efficiency to Southeast Asia.
Born and raised in the U.S. (but a world traveler), Brad has lived in Asia for over ten years. Brad received his degree from the University of Houston and studied Mandarin Chinese in Taiwan.
Brad is responsible for coordinating new projects for HMD Asia as well as coordinating improvement projects with existing properties.
Sokha comes to HMD Asia directly from KPMG where she worked since 2005. She quickly rose through the ranks to become an Auditing Manager responsible specifically in the area of hotel and tourism.
She was responsible for a wide range of audit assignments which require awareness of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Tax Laws and Regulations, and understanding of financial and operational systems.
Her tasks included (but are not limited to): assessing business risk; analysing business performance reviewing internal control systems; and delivering technical training.
She now works as HMD Asia’s Financial Controller reporting directly to the Managing Director.
Experience with hotel hospitality sector: Park Hyatt Siem Reap, Le Meridien Angkor, Princiere Resorts Ltd (Amansara), Grand Hotel D’Angkor, Raffle Le Royal, Intercontinental Phnom Penh Hotel and Cambodiana Hotel.
Noelene, the founder of Enticing Asia, has extensive experience in the tourism industry, having developed her dynamic sales and marketing skills in Australia and Asia over a twenty-year plus career in the hotel, airline and tourism sectors. Notable positions include 13 years with market leader Singapore Airlines, the iconic Hotel de la Paix Siem Reap and luxury operator Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, Bali (part of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company).
Bill’s interest in gardens dates back to just shortly after he learned to walk. By age four, his father taught him how to grip a hoe, and since then his duties in gardens around the world have never ceased. Upon completing his Master’s at Harvard, Bill began his career in Asia with Belt Collins & Associates in Singapore, where he eventually took the post Managing Director of their Hong Kong office.
Since opening his own design studio, his reputation has steadily grown throughout the region for his near encyclopedic horticultural knowledge as well as his use and adaptation of ethnic art forms. Bill is a dedicated Asian-phile, travels extensively around the region, and continues to study and adapt his work to the unique characteristics and cultures. He loves his job and takes great joy in building long-term relationships with clients.
Sokoun Chanpreda has been involved in the hotel and restaurant business for more than fifteen years, which might seem like a short time, but in that time his concepts have garnered a host of awards and accolades, and his properties are recognized as leaders in their regions. However, Sokoun is more than his corporate avatar, his concepts are also garnering attention for their positive social and environmental impact.
Sokoun is primarily responsible for seeking out opportunities to expand the Shinta Mani and Hotel de la Paix brands across Asia.
Raised in Bangkok, with roots in Cambodia, Sokoun is a native son to Southeast Asia, but received his BA at Boston University. His experience extends to high-end jewelry and hotel property development.
As founder of HMD Asia, Bed Management, Hotel de la Paix, Shinta Mani, Bed Superclub, Hot Rod, Aha and other concepts Sokoun brings a wealth of industry knowledge to the boardroom table.
